The neutrino is an elementary particle. A recent experiment seems to show that neutrinos travel faster than light... Sent underground 730km from the CERN on the French-Swiss border to Gran Sasso in Italie, neutrinos arrived 60 nanoseconds faster than a light beam would have done.
Neutrinos let us imagine that another dimension exists and they use it like a "short cut". Even more exciting, if neutrinos are faster than light that means they are able to go back in time... When will we be able to use them to see the past (again)?!
The article in itself is very interesting if you have the time to read it all because it becomes quite boring after a few minutes if you're not into Physics. To truly understand such a phenomenon you would either have to be a Physics freak or a scientist because this article uses too much scientific vocabulary and not a lot of people are able to understand it.
ReplyDeleteBut the idea of having something faster than light or that can maybe travel through another dimension is amazing. It could be the breakthrough of the century. It would be the end of Einstein's theory. It would change science as we know it today... Who knows, maybe tomorrow we will be able to travel through time? And wouldn't that be cool!
